Community Groups

Practicing love and service to one another in small groups where deep relationships can begin.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
– John 13:34–35 (ESV) –

What is the purpose of Community Groups?

Community Groups endeavor to provide application of the Gospel to our church family life.  They are one of the primary places to practice love and service to one another.  Our groups are the fastest way to connect with smaller numbers of people and begin deep relationships.  The Christian life is tough so the physical and emotional care of struggling group members often begins here.

What happens at a meeting of a Community Group?

Groups are led by trained, caring couples. The Bible is exposed in response to the sermon series, or around a relevant discipleship issue.  Prayer, fellowship, and food are always a vital part of each meeting.

Where do they meet?

Community Groups meet at host homes.  These homes are scattered throughout the South Wake area generally, with most in and around Fuquay-Varina.  Members and new attenders are usually placed in groups in proximity to their address.

When and how often do they meet?

Groups meet three times a month, usually the first three weeks, with a break during the fourth week. Most groups meet on Wednesday evening, 7:00p to around 8:30p.  A few groups meet on Tuesday or Thursday evening.

Are children welcome?

Children are gladly welcome. Each group provides for childcare during the group meeting according to their own plan.  Teenagers are encouraged to meet along with the adults in the regular meeting.
